Aviaeology AOD48S02M1 is a sheet of technical stencils and maintenance data for the Bristol Beaufighter in 1:48 scale. Roundels and squadron codes are not on it.

A sheet from the technical stencil series: the small maintenance and service notices that Beaufighters of the RAF and the RCAF carried, including both factory variants and those painted on in the field. It is not a kit or a sheet with the markings of a particular machine - fuselage codes, roundels and serial numbers are not on it, and that is what sets it apart from the sheets with particular aircraft. The two sets therefore complement each other, they do not replace each other. The instructions show the place of every stencil and point out the known deviations.
The Bristol Beaufighter was a twin-engine heavy fighter and strike aircraft with Bristol Hercules engines. It served as a night fighter, an anti-shipping attack machine and a torpedo carrier and went through a range of versions during the war. That is precisely why the small stencils on surviving photographs diverge: a machine was lettered one way from the factory and another after repair at a unit. For this series the manufacturer states that it covers the usual color schemes of the Beaufighter with the exception of the all-black night finish of the early period, where the stencils were made in different shades.
In 1:48 the stencils are genuinely small - work with tweezers, a sharp scalpel and good light. Apply them only after the national insignia and the codes, always onto gloss varnish. A mild softener is safer than a strong one on motifs this small; dilute the strong one and test it on an offcut of the sheet first. At the end give the surface a coat matching the sheen of the real machine.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
