Boarding ladder for the Su-27, 1:48

An accessory set with a boarding ladder for a model of the heavy Soviet Su-27 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for a scene. The cockpit of a parked Su-27 sits high above the ground, so without a ladder the pilot cannot reach it. On a model it is a detail that immediately says the machine is on the ground and someone is working on it.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts from the carriers with a fine saw or a sharp blade and sand the cut surface. Wash and degrease them before painting. Paint the ladder separately and add it to the model only at the end, or just loosely so that it can be taken off. Ground equipment is usually more knocked about and dirtier than the aircraft itself, so scrapes on the rungs and boot marks are in order. The hooks on the upper end have to seat on the edge of the cockpit, otherwise the ladder stands away from it.
