The MiG-15bis SPACE set improves the cockpit of a model of the Soviet MiG-15bis fighter in 1:48 scale with 3D decals supplemented by photo-etched steel parts. The set is cut to fit the MiG-15bis kit from Eduard. It is not an airplane model but a set of decals and photo-etch for the interior.
The MiG-15bis was the reworked and more powerful version of the original MiG-15; it was given a more powerful engine and a number of changes to the airframe. Eduard therefore issues the sets for the two versions separately, and this one is meant precisely for the bis. The decals have a real thickness, so the instrument panel and the side consoles get raised instruments, domed dial glass and legible lettering. The photo-etched steel part adds seat belts and small cockpit parts. The decals are applied with water; they are not self-adhesive.
Sand the molded instruments on the plastic panel smooth, or the decal will not seat. Spray the base in the cockpit shade and let it dry. Move the decal only while it is wet. Do not use a decal softener; it would attack the printed resin. Do not clear coat the dial glass. Finish the cockpit before you join the fuselage halves.
This is an accessory, not an airplane model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
