Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the prewar PZL/IAR P.24E high-wing fighter in 1:48 scale from Mirage Hobby. It is a short-run tooling completed with modern 3D-printed parts that raise the detail of the cockpit and of the small items. The release aims at machines of the Romanian Air Force, which used this type. The box offers a decal sheet with several marking options.
The P.24 was the export development of the Polish line of PZL P.11 high-wing fighters with their characteristic cranked gull wing. Unlike the domestic machines it received a more powerful radial engine and heavier armament and was intended solely for foreign customers. Romania operated it partly from license production by the domestic company IAR; the P.24E version had a radial engine and a wooden two-blade propeller. It was used at the beginning of the Second World War.
Short-run tooling calls for more preparation — reckon with cleaning up the parts, dry fitting and possibly filling. Separate the 3D-printed parts carefully from their supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate; finish the open cockpit before you close the fuselage. Seat the struts carrying the upper wing firmly and square. Glue the plastic with a thin plastic cement, apply the camouflage with an airbrush and lay the decals on a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
