This Aviaeology sheet ADD48C050-4 is a sheet of decal national markings: RCAF roundels with the silver maple leaf, 84 inches in diameter, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a sheet of national markings, that is of roundels of one single size. They are not airframe technical stencils, tail codes or the serial numbers of a particular machine. The size of 84 inches is the largest diameter offered in the whole range; in 1:48 scale that corresponds to a roundel approximately 44 mm in diameter. The sister sheets in the same range cover the other sizes: ADD48C050-1 for 48 inches, 24 inches, 16 and 30 inches, 36 inches, and the untypical sizes of 42, 28, 22 and 20 inches.
After World War II the Royal Canadian Air Force put a maple leaf in the center of its roundel. Canadian machines carried the silver leaf right up to 1965, when the red leaf of the new Canadian national flag took its place. The largest diameters belonged on large surfaces, typically on the upper side of the wings, so always compare the size with a drawing or a photograph of the machine you are building.
Spray a gloss coat under the decals, so that no flat edges form under the film. Trim the motif, soak it briefly and slide it into place with a brush. On rivets and engraved lines a decal fixer and then a decal softener, which draws the film into the detail, will help. Apply the softener only after it is exactly seated, because after that the decal will not move. Finally varnish the whole surface over.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
