A resin, 3D printed detail accessory in 1:48 scale from SBS Model. The set reproduces the radial engine and the exhaust system of the Douglas SBD Dauntless carrier dive bomber in the SBD-1 to SBD-4 versions. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that raises the fidelity of the engine section. The mating faces match the engine section of the Academy and AM kits.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier dive bomber that played a key role in the fighting in the Pacific. It was powered by a radial engine; a faithful reproduction with the exhausts makes it possible to show the engine section under an open cowling.
Wash the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The fine exhausts and cylinders come out well after a primer, shading and weathering.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Sand resin with respiratory protection.
