SG01 Gundam Color Spray MS White – a semi-gloss white (Gunze / Mr.Hobby), 40 ml

A semi-gloss lacquer spray (aerosol) by the Japanese brand Gunze Mr.Hobby with a volume of 40 ml in white. It is a lacquer ready for immediate application that needs neither an airbrush nor a compressor. It belongs to the Gundam Color Spray (SG) range – lacquer sprays mixed exactly to the official colors of the robots (Mobile Suit, MS for short) of the world of Gundam. MS White is the white of the main body of the robot.

What the Gundam Color Spray is for

A Gunpla fan does not have to mix a shade of his own – he gets the factory Gundam white straight in a spray and covers the large areas of a robot fast without an airbrush. The sprays are already thinned, ready for immediate spraying. The whole SG range with further MS colors (red, blue, yellow and so on) is made by the manufacturer, so a complete color scheme for a robot can be put together from one and the same range.

Use

• Shake for 1 to 2 minutes before spraying (there is a mixing ball inside), otherwise the paint sprays thin and unevenly.
• Lay down thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 cm; a heavy coat runs and forms orange peel. Rather more thin passes than one heavy one.
• White covers more weakly than dark shades – count on more thin coats and let a few hours of drying pass between them. Over dark plastic a light primer helps.
• Spray in warm, dry conditions – in cold and damp a milky haze appears on the lacquer.
• It is a lacquer that attacks plastic – proceed carefully on thin and clear parts and test on a hidden area first.

For builders of Gunpla (Gundam models) who want fast and even coverage of the large areas of a robot without an airbrush. Further MS shades of the SG range for the color scheme, a primer under the white to even the surface out and a flat or gloss varnish for the final finish make good companions.

Lacquer vapors – use only in a well-ventilated space and with a respirator. The aerosol is flammable, keep it away from flame and heat. The spray is not suited to fine detail, to areas it is.
