A plastic kit model of the single-seat SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A attack jet in 1:48 scale. This is completely new Airfix tooling from 2025 with 243 parts. The package contains neither photo-etched parts nor masks and offers four RAF color schemes, with the GR.1A variant representing the upgraded standard of the aircraft.
The Jaguar came about as an Anglo-French project of the SEPECAT consortium. It was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca Adour engines. In the Royal Air Force it served from 1974 to 2007, mainly as a tactical attack and reconnaissance aircraft capable of low-level flight at high speed. It proved itself in combat in the Gulf War of 1991. The GR.1A version was the upgraded standard with improved avionics.
The new 2025 tooling guarantees fine engraving and good fit, yet with supersonic jets it still pays to seat the fuselage and the leading edges carefully. Because the package contains no masks, prepare your own masking tape for the canopy glazing. RAF schemes usually use multicolor camouflage, so we recommend marking out the transitions and spraying finely. Pick out the external stores and the tanks with a wash effect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
