This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:50 scale represents the Polish ocean-going yacht S/Y Opty. The model offers a hull broken down into sections, deck equipment, spars and rigging, and it is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is a fairly large model of a sailing vessel.
S/Y Opty is a Polish ocean-going yacht on which Leonid Teliga made a solo voyage around the world in 1967 to 1969 as the first Pole to do so. That demanding and heroic journey became a major milestone of Polish yachting, and the yacht Opty is among the icons of Polish maritime history. The boat had a yawl rig.
The most demanding and at the same time the most striking part of the build is the ship rigging and the lines. Glue the plastic with liquid cement, smooth the hull and varnish it. The sails and the lines can be made from suitable materials. Set the model on a stand and add small deck details for a faithful look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
