Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the battleship Indiana. The main purchasing distinction is the equipment level: this is the Standard version, that is the basic level, which builds on plastic parts and decals. The manufacturer also releases the same ship in the Deluxe edition, which adds detailing accessories to the plastic, and the Platinum level stands highest in the line. The scope of the accessories differs from vessel to vessel, so check the contents on the box.
Indiana was a battleship of the South Dakota class, commissioned on April 30, 1942 at Newport News. On the night of February 1, 1944, while refueling other vessels, she collided with her sister battleship Washington, which called for repairs at Majuro. After them she escorted the aircraft carriers during attacks on Japanese positions, and in June 1944 she stood in the battle line of the task force at the Battle of the Philippine Sea. She reached Tokyo Bay on September 5, 1945, that is only after the surrender had been signed, and in 1946 she was placed in reserve.
Decide between the full hull and the waterline, as the choice of stand depends on it too. The South Dakota class has a shorter hull than the ships of the Iowa class, so the superstructure looks more tightly packed and is worth some attention. Paint the superstructures and decks separately from the hull. Paint the small anti-aircraft armament while still on the sprue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
