Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American A-25A Shrike dive bomber, that is the land-based army counterpart of the carrier-based SB2C Helldiver. For this box the manufacturer gives gray and clear sprues, photo-etched parts, decals and landing flaps that can be built lowered. Check the contents of the package on the box.
The A-25A Shrike was the army version of a carrier-based dive bomber. For operation from land airfields the machine lost its folding wings and its arrestor hook during production and received further partial changes. By the time it began reaching the units, however, the US Army Air Forces no longer had a role for dive bombers: fighter-bombers could do their work. The Shrike therefore never saw combat. Most of the airframes were taken over by the Marine Corps and the rest served in training and auxiliary duties.
The cockpit is long and glazed, so it is worth finishing it including the rear gun position before closing the fuselage. Polish the canopy and mask it with liquid mask, and paint the frames with a fine brush. The radial engine under the cowling is only partly visible on the finished model, so it is enough to bring out the cylinder heads. Play up the differences between the panels in the olive and gray finish and settle the decals over a gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
