Note that this is not a model of the aircraft but a set of masking stencils. The Czech brand Peewit makes pre-cut self-adhesive masks for plastic models, typically for canopy frames and wheels. On a small fighter the canopy is tiny and the frames are narrow, so working along them with a brush usually ends in an uneven line, and a mask is the quickest route to a clean result.
The Ambrosini SAI.207 was an Italian light fighter of the Second World War, built largely of wood. It grew out of the same company's line of fast sports and training aircraft, and the idea behind it was a simple structure made from non-strategic materials with a small but powerful engine. Only a few dozen machines were built and no large-scale service followed, because Italian production was fragmented and the events of 1943 overtook development. For the modeler it is therefore a rare subject that is seldom built.
Apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing and press them down with a stick or tweezers so that no paint runs under the edge. Spray the frames with the interior color first and only then with the exterior camouflage. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a thick coat tears when the mask is lifted. Remove the mask while the paint is merely dry, not fully cured. With Italian schemes expect irregular blotches, which are sprayed from a short distance at low pressure.
The set contains masks only. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
