This is small armament, not a model of a vehicle: the MK-19 automatic grenade launcher in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Spalah, 3D-printed from photopolymer resin. It is with weapons this small that printing is irreplaceable, because the boxy receiver, the feed opening and the tripod have so many small edges and openings that in injection-molded plastic at this scale they would merge into a single block.
The MK-19 is an American 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, in service from the 1970s. It fires bursts from a belt and is used both on a mount with infantry and in the gun cupolas of vehicles, from armored cars to boats. Its slow, clearly visible grenade trajectory makes it a support weapon rather than one for precise fire at a single target.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the weapon separately, off the vehicle and preferably with an airbrush over a primer, so that the fine engraving does not fill in. Depth comes from a dark wash into the openings and a very careful dry brush on the edges of the receiver.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The vehicle, figures, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
