A plastic kit of the British twin-engine Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bristol Blenheim was created in the mid-1930s as a twin-engine light bomber and when it entered service it was faster than most fighters of the day. It is powered by two Bristol Mercury radial engines, it has a glazed nose and it carries a defensive gun turret on top of the fuselage. The Mk.IF version is a fighter conversion of the Mk.I bomber: it received a pack with four machine guns under the fuselage, with which the aircraft served in the night and long-range fighter role.
This is a classic kit of injection-molded polystyrene. The parts are attached to sprues, from which they are nipped off with cutters, and decals and assembly instructions are included in the package.
The Blenheim has a lot of glazing, on the nose as well as on the dorsal turret, and that is exactly what decides the result. The surest way is to mask the frames with tape or with masks before spraying rather than painting them in once the paint has dried. Finish the cockpit and glue the glazing in before you close up the fuselage.
The kit will please collectors of British aircraft of the start of the Second World War and any builder who enjoys twin-engine machines. Basic experience of gluing, masking and painting is assumed. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
