British 3-inch unguided rockets for the Hurricane in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Plusmodel. Underwing ordnance that turns a ground-attack Hurricane into a destroyer of ground targets.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cast set of underwing ordnance for the Hawker Hurricane in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It contains British unguided rockets of three inches, that is roughly 76 millimeters. The castings have a crisper fin profile and cleaner heads than can be molded into plastic, and it is precisely the fins that are the most noticeable detail on the rockets.
During the Second World War British three-inch rockets became the main weapon of ground-attack aircraft against ground and naval targets. They were not guided missiles but simple unguided projectiles with a rocket motor, fired from rails or from underwing racks. The Hurricane in the version adapted for attacks on ground targets carried them in pairs under the wing, and with this ordnance it served above all in North Africa and in Asia.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and glue them with cyanoacrylate. The fins are thin, so work over a tray with a raised rim. Paint the rockets separately before hanging them, and set the head apart with a darker or a warning shade. Seat the rockets under the wing exactly parallel; ordnance hung crooked spoils the impression of the whole model.
This is an accessory for a kit and does not contain the model itself. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
