A SPACE set for the Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 in 1:72 scale for the Arma Hobby kit. 3D decals of the instrument panels and photo-etched steel seat belts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from the SPACE range for the American Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 fighter in 1:72 scale. This is not an airplane kit but a cockpit accessory. The 3D decals carry relief, color printing and legible dial faces and are applied straight onto the surfaces of the pilot's compartment, so painting the instruments by hand falls away. Photo-etched steel seat belts are added to them. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Arma Hobby kit.
The Hawk 81-A2 is the export designation of a fighter from the Curtiss P-40 family, made famous by the American Volunteer Group fighting in China. It was their aircraft that carried the painted shark mouth on the nose, one of the best-known finishes of the Second World War. The machine did not stand out in performance at altitude, but it was robust, fast in a dive and in the hands of well-trained pilots it proved a dangerous opponent.
Spray the surfaces in a dark shade and let them cure. Release the decal in water, seat it and press it down gently with a cotton swab. Do not use a decal softener; it would attack the printed resin. Bend the steel belts over the edge of a ruler, shape them with tweezers and fix them with a tiny drop of super glue.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Arma Hobby kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
