Responsibility details are not available.
This gift set from the British company Airfix in 1:72 scale came out as an anniversary release. With Airfix the Gift Set designation means a gift package which, besides the kit itself, tends to be supplemented with basic modeling accessories - the exact make-up differs from set to set, though, so check it against the packaging. The model is an injection-molded plastic kit and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The nickname Dambusters belongs to No. 617 Squadron of the Royal Air Force, and the eightieth anniversary refers to its best-known operation of May 1943. Anniversary releases tend to be an opportunity for manufacturers to recall historically famous machines, and as a rule they appear on the market only for a limited time. Check the particular type of aircraft, the color schemes and the extent of the decal sheet against the details on the packaging.
The 1:72 scale is the most widespread one among aircraft modelers and a build in it is quick. Clean the parts up from the parting lines and glue them with thin plastic cement, which runs into a joint by capillary action. Build and paint the cockpit before you close it up, and mask the transparent parts so that they stay clean. Before painting, apply primer; it evens the surface out and reveals small flaws that would otherwise show through. Always apply the decals onto a glossy surface, help yourself with a softener and at the end even the whole model out with a matte or semi-matte varnish. Keep the patina restrained - in this scale it is enough to suggest worn paint at the entry points and a light emphasis of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Check the exact make-up of the gift package against the packaging; the glue, paints and accessories need not be part of it, unless stated otherwise.
