An injection-molded plastic kit of the flying boat Dornier Do J Wal in 1:72 scale from Amodel, in the markings of the Spanish Republican Air Force. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and contains plastic sprues and a decal sheet. It is a short-run kit, suitable rather for more experienced modelers.
The Dornier Wal was a German twin-engine high-wing flying boat of the 1920s with an all-metal hull and the characteristic tandem arrangement of the engines above the wing. Thanks to its rugged structure and long range it was used both militarily and in civil transport. Machines of this type also flew with the Republican Air Force during the Spanish Civil War.
On a short-run kit, count on cleaning the parts up and dry-fitting them; fill the seams on the hull with putty and sand them smooth. Bond with liquid cement for plastic. Paint the hull and the floats with an airbrush and apply the decals over a dry gloss coat. A display stand helps to present a model that has no landing gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
