About product

F-86A Sabre air brakes 1:72 (Clear Prop Models)

This is a resin detail accessory, not a kit. The set contains the airbrakes for the F-86A Sabre jet fighter, which make it possible to show the brake doors on the sides of the fuselage in the open position together with the detail of their wells. That brings a finished model standing on the ground markedly to life.

The real subject

The F-86A was the first production version of the American swept-wing Sabre jet fighter, used over Korea. The airbrakes served to reduce speed quickly and on the ground they were usually left extended.

Use and tips

  • Separate the parts from the casting blocks with a sharp knife, as they are thin.
  • Before gluing, wash off mold release agent residue and degrease them.
  • Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
  • Bring the inside of the wells and the doors out with a wash for depth.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want a model with the airbrakes in the open position.
  • Builders used to working with resin.

The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
