An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light anti-aircraft gun 2 cm Flak 38 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Military Wheels. This is a model of the weapon itself on its mount, not of a vehicle. Check the contents of the package on the box.
The Flak 38 was a German automatic gun of 20 mm caliber which in the Second World War formed the basis of anti-aircraft defense at the lowest level. It came about as a reworking of the earlier Flak 30 weapon and differs from it above all in a higher rate of fire, which crews valued against low-flying aircraft. The weapon was carried on a two-wheeled trailer and set down on the ground on a triangular base, which allowed fire in all directions. Besides aircraft it was used against ground targets as well, where it was effective against lightly armored equipment and against infantry, and it was mounted on trucks, armored personnel carriers and railway cars. It was built in large numbers and appeared on every front.
The barrel, the gunsight and the mount are small parts, so get tweezers and glue with a fine tip ready. Separate the parts with a sharp knife or a saw, not by twisting them. Paint the weapon broken down into subassemblies and glue it together only at the end. An airbrush suits German gray or the later dark yellow base; pick out the metal edges afterwards with a fine rub of graphite or of metallic paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
