The diorama battle set La Haye Sainte — Waterloo 1815 (BATTLESET) in 1:72 scale from Italeri: the La Haye Sainte farm and figures of Napoleonic Wars soldiers.
Responsibility details are not available.
An extensive diorama and gaming set in 1:72 scale from Italeri, devoted to the Battle of Waterloo of 1815. The box combines the construction of a key building of the battlefield — the La Haye Sainte farm (the house, the barn and the stables) — with several sets of plastic figures of Napoleonic Wars soldiers. The farm building is made as a laser-cut structure, to which injection-molded plastic figures of infantry and artillery of both sides are added. The result is a complete scene of one of the decisive places of the battle, which can be built as a diorama or used for tabletop games. Check the exact make-up and the numbers of figures against the manufacturer's information.
La Haye Sainte was a fortified farm on the slope between the lines at Mont-Saint-Jean which on 18 June 1815 formed one of the key strong points in front of the center of the Duke of Wellington's allied array. It was held above all by the German light infantry of the King's German Legion and fierce fighting with the French infantry was waged over it all day. The fall of the farm in the evening of the battle seriously threatened the allied center, before the arrival of the Prussian army and the general French retreat settled matters. La Haye Sainte is therefore one of the most symbolic places of Napoleon's defeat.
First assemble and fit the farm building, and only then deal with the figures and the terrain. The masonry and the wooden elements come to life with a base color and a discreet wash in the joints, which emphasizes the texture. Paint the small 1:72 figures in layers from darker tones to lighter ones and finish the uniform details with a dry brush; use liquid modeling cement to glue the plastic parts. Complete the base of the diorama with the texture of grass, earth and trampled ground; a unifying weathering of dust and mud will tie the scene together into a whole.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
