The Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-5 is a plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard in the ProfiPACK edition.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Czech maker Eduard, based in Obrnice. ProfiPACK is this brand's higher range: to the plastic it adds photo-etched parts and self-adhesive masks and it offers more marking options than the basic version. It is a way to get the extra material straight in the box instead of having to hunt for it separately.
The Bf 109 was the most numerously built fighter in history and the G series, nicknamed the Gustav, its most widespread development branch. The G-5 version is the pressurized counterpart of the well-known G-6: it was given a pressurized cabin for combat at high altitude, while otherwise it shares the armament and the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling, which had to cover the breeches of the heavy machine guns. It was precisely these bulges that gave the late Gustavs their nickname, taken from a boil on the face.
Finish the cockpit and paint it before you glue the fuselage together, or you will no longer reach it. The parts are glued with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with super glue. Fit the glazing and mask it before spraying. Before the decals, go over the areas with a gloss coat; on a matte surface air would be trapped under a decal and the edge would turn white. Unify the finished paintwork with a matte varnish and only then add the chipping and the exhaust stains.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
