An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker RS Models. The model captures the two-seat North American NAA-57 P-2 trainer in the version operated by the Luftwaffe. The kit is made by short-run technology and offers several variants of camouflage and markings.
The NAA-57 P-2 belonged to the family of American North American trainers derived from the NA-16 type (a relative of the later T-6). It was originally built to a prewar French order; after the fall of France a number of these machines fell into German hands and the Luftwaffe used them as trainers in its flying schools. It was a two-seat all-metal low-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and a radial engine.
As a short-run kit the model is intended for more experienced modelers: the parts call for cleaning up the sprue attachments, tidying the mating surfaces and possibly adjusting the fit. Glue with thin cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush. Several marking schemes are prepared for the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
