Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set of unpainted Roman infantry figures in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The figures represent legionaries equipped with segmented armor (lorica segmentata), large rectangular shields (scutum), short swords (gladius) and throwing javelins (pilum). The set also includes commanders with a transverse crest on the helmet and a bearer of the legionary standard. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Infantry armed and equipped in this way represents the Roman legion of the imperial period (the Principate). Segmented armor, the rectangular shield and the combination of a short sword and a throwing javelin formed the backbone of a fighting force that came to control much of the then known world. Disciplined heavy infantry fighting in close formation is one of the most iconic subjects in ancient modeling.
Separate the parts from the sprue and bond them with thin plastic cement. Apply a primer coat before painting. Metal armor comes out best in metallic shades with dark tones worked into the recesses, the red tunics and the decorated shields are rewarding areas for brush painting, and a dry brush will bring out the edges and the detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
