An all-resin model of the 100 mm MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Spalah.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a standalone kit of the complete weapon, not an accessory set: the Soviet 100 mm MT-12 Rapira towed anti-tank gun in 1:72 scale. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints the model from photopolymer resin. With towed guns printing is in its element, because the carriage is an assembly of thin beams, wheels, a shield and sights that would have to be thickened in injection-molded plastic at this scale.
The MT-12 Rapira is a towed anti-tank gun with a 100 mm smoothbore barrel, taken into service in the 1960s as the successor to an older weapon of the same caliber. The smooth bore allows sub-caliber armor-piercing rounds with a very high muzzle velocity to be fired, and also a guided anti-tank missile. The weapon was built in large numbers and still turns up in current conflicts.
A resin kit belongs in the hands of a more experienced modeler. Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Assemble the thin beams of the carriage on a flat surface so that they stay true. Paint over a primer with an airbrush; depth comes from a dark wash and dust pigment on the wheels and underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
