A set of figures of support personnel in current North Atlantic Alliance kit, 1:72 scale from Spalah. 3D-printed resin.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds figures of support personnel, that is the people who handle supply, maintenance and servicing in the field rather than combat formations. The scale is 1:72. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its figures from photopolymer resin. Modelers tend to be short of these characters in dioramas, because makers supply mainly combat poses, and yet it is work in progress that explains a scene. Supplied unpainted.
Support personnel can be told from combat units by their clothing and kit: a lighter load-carrying vest or none at all, work gloves, tools instead of a weapon and often a more civilian posture. In the field they handle refueling and resupply of ammunition, minor repairs and guiding vehicles, so they turn up where equipment is standing still rather than where the fighting is.
Wash the print resin residue off the figures, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:72 scale work with contrast rather than with a large number of shades. With working characters it pays to dirty the hands, knees and forearms with a dark wash, otherwise the scene looks too clean and prepared.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
