This is a small accessory, not a model of a weapon: a set of 105 mm artillery ammunition in 1:72 scale. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin. A set like this suits any scene where ammunition is being brought up or stacked, at a howitzer, at a truck or in an ammunition heap beside a firing position. Printing manages to capture the transition between the cartridge case and the projectile even at a small scale.
105 mm is the classic caliber of light towed howitzers of Western design and is still used with several types. Against the heavier 155 mm caliber it offers less weight, easier transport and a higher rate of fire, at the cost of shorter range and less effect on target. In units the ammunition tends to be stored in transport containers and carried to the gun one round at a time.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the cartridge case in a metallic shade, the projectile olive or dark green, and pick out the colored bands only, as particular markings cannot be painted at this scale. A dry brush on the edges and a dark wash into the joints will add depth.
This is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
