A finished, assembled and painted model of the German Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun, that is the Sd.Kfz.167, in 1:72 scale. Easy Model is the collector's line of the Chinese manufacturer Trumpeter: the model comes out of the box built, sprayed and with markings applied, so it needs neither glue nor paints. The manufacturer places it in the Platinum Collection. The particular unit and front are not stated here.
The StuG IV came about in 1943 as a response to the bombing of the Alkett factory, which built the StuG III. The Krupp company set a casemate superstructure with the StuK 40 gun 48 calibers long onto the hull of the Panzer IV tank. The vehicle was lower than a tank, cheaper to produce and easier to conceal, so an assault gun for infantry support turned mainly into a tank destroyer. It served on the Eastern as well as the Western Front until the end of the war.
Finished models are most often displayed without any alteration. Anyone who wants more can tone the surface with pigments or pastel dust and bring out the engraved lines with a wash; the factory paint is matte and holds well. When handling it, pick the vehicle up by the hull, not by the delicate exhaust and fender parts.
The model is finished, assembled and painted. It is not a kit and you need neither glue nor paints for it, unless stated otherwise.
