An injection-molded plastic kit of the German StuG III self-propelled gun in the Ausf.F version in 1:72 scale from the Italian maker Italeri. The subject is the Sturmgeschütz III, that is, an assault gun built on the proven chassis of the Panzer III medium tank, with a fixed low superstructure instead of a rotating turret. The Ausf.F version is key in that it received a longer 7.5 cm gun and turned the StuG from infantry support into a real tank destroyer. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The StuG III was the most widespread German assault gun of the Second World War. It originally served for direct fire support of the infantry, but after German units ran into heavily armored Soviet tanks the Ausf.F version was fitted with a longer, more penetrating gun. Thanks to its low silhouette, good frontal armor and cheaper production than conventional tanks, the StuG proved itself on every front as a defensive and anti-tank weapon. It is among the technically and historically most interesting German combat vehicles.
Assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the tracks before you close the hull. Glue the small parts with thin cement for plastic applied drop by drop. Spray the model with primer, apply the base color with an airbrush and then work with washes and pigments - mud and dust effects on the running gear and the lower hull will give the vehicle convincing weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
