Control surfaces for the TBF and TBM Avenger in 1:72 scale from the brand CMK. An accessory resin set of control surfaces for Hobby Boss kits, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory resin set of control surfaces for models of the Grumman Avenger torpedo bomber in 1:72 scale, intended for Hobby Boss kits. It is not an airplane model but a replacement for the surfaces that the kit carries molded in one piece with the wing and with the tail surfaces.
An injection-molded kit usually has the rudders and the flaps in the neutral position and molded in one piece with the wing or with the tail surfaces. The result then looks motionless. Separate surfaces let you deflect the rudder and the elevator, and the model gains the movement that a static display case lacks most. The deflections do have to match one another, though: a machine on the ground tends to have its surfaces hanging under their own weight, whereas a machine in a bank holds its deflection in line with the position of the stick.
The Avenger was an American carrier-borne torpedo bomber and the heaviest machine that operated regularly from aircraft carriers during the Second World War. Grumman built it under the TBF designation, while under the TBM designation it was built by the automotive division that took over most of the production so that Grumman could concentrate on fighters. About ten thousand machines were built in all and they served in the Pacific and in the Atlantic.
This is an accessory for the build. The Hobby Boss base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
