A conical bit with an angle of sixty degrees for chamfering the edges of holes, from DSPIAE. It fits into a holder and is used by hand, without power.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a cutting bit on its own, not a finished tool. It fits into the holder of the chamfering tool from the same brand and serves to give a drilled hole a clean cone around its circumference. It comes into its own on gun muzzles, exhausts, nozzles and lightening holes, that is everywhere a sharp edge left by a drill gives away that the hole is merely drilled and not cast. An angle of sixty degrees gives a deeper and narrower cone than the ninety-degree version.
The cutting part is made of a hard sintered material. It holds its edge for a very long time, but it is brittle and will not take being bent sideways. Guide the holder in the axis of the hole and do not lever with it. In a power tool the bit behaves aggressively and easily cuts through a thin wall; with modeling plastic it pays to stay with hand work. Blow the resulting chips away or sweep them off with a brush, not with your finger.
For modelers who already drill and want to give their holes a finished look, and for owners of the matching holder from the same brand who are missing exactly this angle.
Wipe the bit after work and store it so that the point rests against nothing. A broken-off tip cannot be ground back and the bit is then useless, even though the rest of the cutting part looks untouched.
The package holds the bit only. The holder and drill bits are not part of it.
