AFV Club AFQ005 F-16A Fighting Falcon is a plastic kit of a caricature fighter from the Egg Plane line, with a shortened, rounded fuselage in no scale, buildable in a single evening.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AFQ005 kit from the Taiwanese company AFV Club belongs to the Q line, that is to the group of caricature Egg Plane models. The aircraft is deliberately shortened and rounded into the shape of an egg, so it keeps the characteristic features of the real machine but is not built to any scale, which is why no ratio is stated here for this kit. The manufacturer tooled it as a new release, and according to the manufacturer it has removable underwing stores.
The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter that first flew in 1974 and became the most widespread Western supersonic combat aircraft. Its hallmarks are the bubble canopy with all-round visibility, the ventral air intake and the fly-by-wire control system. The F-16A version is the original single-seater with early avionics, from which all the later blocks were derived.
Caricature models have few parts and large surfaces, so every unevenness in the filler shows on them. Smooth the fuselage seam and go over it with a primer before you move on to color. Gray fighter camouflage looks flat on a rounded fuselage; a light lightening of the upper edges helps. The canopy dominates the model, so it is worth masking and polishing it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
