A paint set from the firm ICM put together for the finishes of the Luftwaffe training aircraft. Intended for models in any scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Before a German pilot took his seat in a combat machine, he went through a whole string of training aircraft. They included biplanes such as the Bücker Bü 131 Jungmann or the Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz, followed by monoplanes of the Arado Ar 96 type with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear. The finishes of these aircraft differed from combat ones: they were often uniform areas complemented by bold numbers and stripes so that the machine would be clearly visible over the airfield. The shades of the Luftwaffe had their own standardized designations in the RLM system.
A paint set put together directly for this circle of machines saves you the searching and the mixing. Instead of assembling the shades from several ranges you get a selection prepared for one theme, which comes in handy especially when you are building several training machines one after another and want to keep a consistent tone between them.
Stir the paints thoroughly before use, as settled pigment will otherwise change the shade. Lay them on in thin coats and let each one dry, as a single heavy coat will bury the fine detail of the surface. Always try the shade out on an offcut or on the underside of a part, because over the base color it looks different than it does in the pot. Thinning, cleaning the tools and the drying time follow the maker's instructions. Close the pots carefully after work.
For modelers who build German aircraft of the 1930s and 1940s and want to have the shades together. Models, glue and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
