Grass mat, dark green, 100 x 300 cm

HEKI grass mat, dark green, 100 x 300 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished grass surface. The backing is a firm special paper on which upright fibers stand and form a dense growth. The dark green matches tall grass in the full growing season, shaded slopes and the ground under trees, where a light shade looks washed out. The 100 x 300 cm format is the largest of the line and gives 3 m² according to the manufacturer, so a layout can be done with a minimum of seams. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• tall meadows, pastures, shaded slopes and areas between forest and field
• a base under trees and shrubs, where the green is to show through only here and there
• on a flat board it is cut and then glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• hills come about by reshaping it over crumpled paper balls or over a framework of strips and cardboard
• cut a road, a stream or a track bed by damping the surface, scraping the fibers off with a spatula and repainting with acrylic

Who it is for

For modelers who are building a large area and need a base dark green as the ground for further layers of vegetation. The dark shade sits well with added tufts, bushes and lighter strips of mown grass, because the difference between the layers stays visible. The mat can be extended with the same dark green in smaller formats, and the coloring stays the same.

Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
