A publication, not a kit. Volume No. 69 of the Warpaint series, by Kev Darling, goes through all the versions of the Marauder, its armament, the units that operated it and the production figures.
The Martin B-26 Marauder was an American twin-engine medium bomber with Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines. Its high wing loading made both take-off and landing demanding and among the crews it earned a bad name at first. After modifications were worked in and the crews were retrained, however, it ended the war in Europe with the lowest loss rate per combat sortie of all the American bombers. Besides the Americans it was used by the British, the South Africans and the Free French.
For modelers of American Second World War bombers who are working out the differences between the versions and the wing spans, and for readers interested in the war in Europe and in the Mediterranean. As a reference it serves when choosing camouflage and markings and when checking the details that differ between the individual versions. It can be read on its own, without previous knowledge of the subject, and it works as a general survey of the type as well.
