Matched Play Pre-Painted Foldable Large L-shaped Ruin - Orks

Matched Play Pre-Painted Foldable Large L-shaped Ruin - Orks — a large folded ruin

A terrain piece from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World. It is not a vehicle model and not a figure, but a large obstacle for the playing surface: an L-shaped ruin in MDF with an Ork styling. It is supplied pre-painted in neutral shades with weathering and is playable after a simple assembly. The package holds one piece. The manufacturer aims it at the Matched Play tournament format and states that it is used in other games with figures 28 to 32 mm in size as well.

What the ruin does on the table

• the large wall area reliably blocks line of sight across the table
• the L shape can be set up to the left or to the right and so mirror a deployment
• optional break-out wall sections add battle damage when you open them
• the foldable construction keeps its stability and still fits into a bag

Building tips

For the first assembly the manufacturer recommends white PVA glue: it holds on MDF and the joint stays flexible, so it survives repeated folding. It does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue, because the joints work loose or get damaged after longer use. With a large piece it pays to glue it in stages and to let every joint dry under a weight, so that it stays at a right angle. Think the orientation of the L through before you glue it permanently.

Who it is for

For tournament organizers, clubs and players who need a dominant block of terrain and want it painted and portable.
