Matched Play Pre-Painted Foldable Small L-shaped Ruin - Orks

Matched Play Pre-Painted Foldable Small L-shaped Ruin - Orks — a folded MDF ruin

A terrain piece from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World. It is not a vehicle model and not a figure, but an obstacle for the playing surface: a small L-shaped ruin in MDF, which is supplied pre-painted in neutral shades with weathering and is playable as soon as it is folded. The package holds one piece. The manufacturer aims it at the Matched Play tournament format and states that it also suits other games with figures 28 to 32 mm in size.

What the ruin does on the table

• it reliably blocks line of sight and creates cover positions with the same footprint on every table
• the L shape can be set up to the left or to the right, so one piece mirrors a deployment
• the set carries optional break-out wall sections, so either leave the walls whole or open them up and get battle damage
• the foldable construction goes up quickly and travels easily

Building tips

For the first assembly the manufacturer recommends white PVA glue: it holds on MDF and the joint stays flexible, so it survives repeated folding. The manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue, because the joints work loose or get damaged after longer use. Decide in advance whether you want the L to the left or to the right, because once the joint is glued permanently the orientation cannot be changed. Open the break-out wall sections before you glue the assembly.

Who it is for

For tournament organizers, clubs and players who want painted terrain without months of work and need to carry it in a bag.
