DSPIAE MSP-ES06 abrasive papers for round heads, 600 grit

Five self-adhesive abrasive papers cut to the shape of the round sanding head of the electric reciprocating sander. The 600 grit is the classic intermediate step: it removes the scratches left by a coarser grain, yet it still has enough cutting power to level out a small irregularity the coarse abrasive overlooked.

When to reach for them

After the coarse leveling of a joint, filler or a sprue nub. Go over the face for as long as it takes for all traces of the previous grit to disappear, and only then move to the finer grade. A skipped intermediate step is the most common reason why coarse scratches appear only under the paint.

How to work with them

• Clean the head before sticking the paper on; it will not hold on dust.
• Work without pressure; the reciprocating movement does the job on its own.
• Replace a clogged paper; a blocked abrasive burnishes the surface instead of cutting it.
• Clean the part between grits, as the remaining coarse grain would scratch the finer step.
• Mask the surrounding detail you do not want to remove with tape.

Who they are for

The refill is for owners of the electric reciprocating sander with round heads. The 600 grit is among the grades used up fastest, because it removes most of the material of the whole finishing procedure. The sander and the heads are not included in the package.

Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
