Photo-etched mesh with a 0.7 x 0.7 mm aperture from the manufacturer Aber. A metal sheet with a coarser square aperture for radiator and engine compartment grilles and protective screens.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling stock material from the Polish manufacturer Aber, not a kit. A sheet of thin photo-etched metal with a regular square aperture measuring 0.7 x 0.7 mm. Compared with the finer variant the aperture is noticeably larger, so the grille looks coarser and more can be seen through it. That suits places where the structure beneath the grille should show, or the larger scales, where a fine aperture would blur into a gray area.
Draw the shape you need on a paper template and only then transfer it to the metal, because the cut cannot be undone. Cut it with sharp metal shears or with a scalpel on a glass surface and level the edges with a fine file. Glue it with super glue applied in a trace layer around the edge, never in the middle of the area. Before painting, degrease the metal and apply a thin metal primer; spray the paint from a greater distance in several light coats, so that the apertures are not flooded. A coarser aperture takes a little more paint than a fine one, but restraint still applies.
For modelers who want to replace blind plastic grilles with an open area and need a more visible, coarser structure. It suits the larger scales and everywhere the grille should visually let the eye inside.
This is a modeling stock material, not a kit. The edges of cut metal are sharp, so work carefully. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
