Test pieces for trying out paint, black version, from DSPIAE. A dark base on which metallic and pearl shades come out best.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of small plastic pieces on which a shade is tried out before you touch the model. They are not flat but shaped, with curves and edges, because it is a curved surface that shows how the paint will really look: on a curve a shade changes with the angle of the light. The black version also needs no primer, because a dark base is even in itself.
A dark base is the best choice there is for metallic and pearl shades. Metallic pigment comes out on it and the depth shows that a white base would cover over with scattered lightness. The same goes for paints that change shade with the angle of view; on a light base those practically do not work.
Note down for every sprayed piece what it has been painted with and how many coats you used. Without a note a sample tells you nothing after a while. Let it dry out thoroughly before storing it, because metallic paints dry more slowly than they look.
Paints, primer and the filing album are not included in the package.
It pays to spray the pieces at the end of a session, while the airbrush is still set up and the paint mixed. With metallic paints that goes double, because the thinning ratio and the distance of the nozzle affect the result more than with opaque paints.
