About product

The German heavy cross-country car with the 2 cm FlaK 38, 1:72

An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy uniform cross-country car, Type 40, in 1:72 scale, together with a 2 cm caliber antiaircraft gun on a trailer. The set therefore offers a pair: the towing vehicle and the weapon it towed behind it. For a diorama that is far more rewarding than the car alone, because the scene has a story straight away.

The real subject

The heavy uniform cross-country car was an open staff and reconnaissance vehicle with all-wheel drive, developed as part of an effort to standardize the vehicle types of the German army. The 2 cm FlaK 38 was the most widespread German light antiaircraft weapon: a rapid-firing automatic gun on a tripod mount, carried on a single-axle trailer. It was also used against ground targets, however, where it had a devastating effect on light vehicles and infantry.

Building and painting tips

In 1:72 scale the parts are small, so work with tweezers and apply the glue with the tip of a toothpick. On plastic use a thin cement. Finish and paint the interior of the open car before you close it up. Paint the gun separately and attach it to the trailer only at the end, or you will not be able to reach it with a brush.

Who the model is for

  • For collectors of German Second World War equipment.
  • For dioramas with an antiaircraft position.
  • For modelers who build in 1:72 scale.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

Both the towing vehicle and the 2 cm antiaircraft gun on a trailer, that is, a pair that belonged together.

It was the most widespread German light antiaircraft weapon. It was also used against ground targets, where it had a devastating effect on light vehicles and infantry.

Rather not. In 1:72 scale the parts are very small and working with them without tweezers is difficult.
