DSPIAE SP-ES06 abrasive papers for flat heads, 600 grit

Five self-adhesive abrasive papers cut for the flat sanding heads of the electric reciprocating sander. The 600 grit is an intermediate step: it removes the scratches left by a coarser grain and still has enough cutting power to level out a small irregularity. A flat head keeps a true face while doing so, so no hollow is sanded into a panel and no edge is knocked back.

When to reach for them

After the coarse leveling of a joint, filler or a sprue nub. Go over the face for as long as it takes for all traces of the previous grit to disappear. A skipped intermediate step is the most common reason why coarse scratches appear only under the paint.

How to work with them

• Clean the head before sticking the paper on; it will not hold on dust.
• Work without pressure and always with the whole face of the head, otherwise the edge will cut a scratch.
• Mask the surrounding detail you do not want to remove with tape.
• Replace a clogged paper; a blocked abrasive burnishes the surface instead of cutting it.
• Clean the part between grits, as the remaining coarse grain would scratch the finer step.

Who they are for

The refill is for owners of the electric reciprocating sander with flat heads. The 600 grit is among the grades used up fastest, because it removes most of the material of the whole finishing procedure. The sander and the sanding heads are not included in the package.

Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
