ST-L Ultimate Bladeless Pliers are DSPIAE modeling pliers with no cutting edge. Closed, the jaws are only around a millimeter wide, so they reach small parts and photo-etch.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ordinary nippers have an edge that bites a part off. These have none: the jaws are smooth and serve for holding, bending, squeezing and pressing in. That is exactly what gets done with photo-etched parts, small metal accessories and thin wire, where an edge would cut the material through or tear it.
Closed, the jaws are around one millimeter wide. Thanks to that they fit where neither fingers nor ordinary flat pliers can reach, and a bend comes out exactly on the line rather than two tenths beside it. The points are straight and smooth, so they hold even a small part that would slip out of round jaws. The package holds a protective leather sleeve.
Anyone who works with photo-etch will reach for them: builders of aircraft with interiors, of military subjects with fenders and grilles, and of ships with railings. They also suit figure modelers who need to hold a part that can no longer be gripped with tweezers.
When bending photo-etch, the procedure that proves itself is to clamp the part in the jaws exactly on the line first and only then fold it with a finger or a second tool. The edge then comes out sharp and the same along its whole length, whereas a free bend made with tweezers as a rule comes out rounded.
The tool is not built for biting wire or metal. Use robust nippers for that, otherwise you will damage the jaws.
