The Aber stainless steel towing cable of 0.9 mm diameter in a one-meter length is material for making faithful towing and recovery cables on models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A braided stainless steel cable of 0.9 mm diameter and one meter in length from the Polish company Aber. It is neither a kit nor a finished part but modeling material from which you cut the length of cable you need yourself. Because it is metal, the cable holds the sag you shape into it and does not spring back to its original form the way a plastic or nylon cord does.
Cut stainless steel cable with sharp nippers; scissors will unravel the end. The ends can be firmed up with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) before an eye is fitted, so that they do not fray. The end eyes tend to be plastic or photo-etched parts from the kit, and the cable is glued into them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Metal does not take an ordinary acrylic paint well, so degrease it first and spray a primer on. Choose the diameter according to the scale — in 1:35 scale 0.9 mm corresponds to a cable about three centimeters thick in reality, so it suits heavier equipment.
For modelers of military equipment and ships who want to replace a hard plastic casting of a cable with a flexible metal one. Suitable for diorama builders as well, where the cable is arranged in a free sag.
This is material, not a model. The end eyes, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
