Waterslide Decals - Orcs

Decals with orc motifs

The set contains waterslide decals with roughly painted signs, marks and symbols in the style that fantasy worlds associate with orcs: irregular shapes, threatening skulls and crudely scrawled lettering rather than precise heraldic devices. On figures, vehicles and terrain features they do exactly what holds painting up the most: the fine drawing that would otherwise have to be painted with a brush stroke by stroke. For this range the manufacturer states full-color opaque printing and application with plain water, with no need for a solvent.

Use

• Varnish the base under the decal to a gloss; on a matte surface white patches would form under the film.
• Cut the motif out close to the edge of the print, a wide film shows once it has dried.
• Dip the decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be slid.
• On an uneven surface use a decal softener so that the film settles into the irregularities.
• Once dry, varnish the whole thing with matte varnish and weather the mark so that it does not look new.

Who it is for

The set is for players and painters of fantasy tabletop figures who are unifying the look of an army, and for terrain builders. It also suits cases where a large number of figures need the same mark, because by hand such work would take many times longer.

A decal softener, a setting solution and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Neither figures nor paints are included.
