Sponge weathering applicators 15 mm from Green Stuff World: pencil-shaped tools with a sponge for larger areas. They are not sanding sponges.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pencil-shaped tools with a foam sponge fifteen millimeters in diameter. The heavier version of the same tool that the manufacturer offers in an eight-millimeter diameter is meant for larger areas: the sides of a hull, hoods, the roofs of buildings or the ground of a diorama. The sponge lays paint on in irregular touches, so a texture arises that you cannot imitate convincingly with a brush. It is not an abrasive tool and does not sand the surface of a model. The handle meanwhile keeps the touch at a constant pressure, so the texture is even over the whole area.
Wet the sponge only lightly and wipe the excess paint off on paper. Apply with straight-down touches and turn the tool, so that the pattern does not repeat. On a large area work in sections and keep stepping back to check the result from a distance, because close up the texture always looks coarser than it finally comes across on a finished model. After work, wash the sponge out while the paint is still wet.
For modelers who weather larger models and want to cover an area faster than by stippling with a brush, and for diorama builders working with terrain. Anyone building in 1:35 scale and larger will appreciate the width of the sponge most.
When working with paints and thinners, ventilate and protect your skin. Store the tools out of the reach of children.
