A universal masking set in yellow material, the second item in its range. It is not tied to a particular kit or to a scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A universal masking set belongs among masking supplies that are not cut for one particular kit. It is used wherever part of a model has to be covered during spraying or two color fields separated from each other. The number two in the name distinguishes the individual sets within the range; which shapes and dimensions this particular set carries is given by the manufacturer on the package.
Universal masks serve to cover finished paintwork, to bound the transition between two shades and to mask areas that are hard to reach with tape built up by hand. They come into use on aircraft, vehicles and figures alike, because they are not tied to a scale. The yellow color of the material stands out well against gray plastic as well as against fresh paint, so you can see reliably where the mask lies and where it ends.
First wash the surface and let it dry thoroughly; grease holds a mask as badly as it holds paint. Place the mask before spraying and press the edges down carefully along their whole length, so that paint cannot creep under them. Spray in thin coats and take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off, not after it has cured completely. Whether the material is self-adhesive and whether it can be used again is best checked against the manufacturer's information.
For modelers who spray with an airbrush and do not want to build a mask from tape and paper every time. Paints, thinner and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
