An injection-molded plastic model of the American medium tank M4 Composite Sherman in the Cupid configuration, 1:35 scale, from Asuka (formerly Tasca). The model captures the so-called composite hull, in which the cast front nose runs into a welded rear section. The turret is fitted with added cheek armor and, according to the manufacturer, the kit contains parts for the periscope guards as well. The exact number of parts and decal schemes is not stated here, because it has not been reliably verified.
The M4 Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War. The version with the composite hull joined a cast front section to a welded rear section and was one of the production intermediate stages of this extensive family. Asuka models have long been valued among modelers for the fidelity of their shapes and the quality of their tooling, which is why they are among the favorite renderings of the Sherman.
On a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed up and the side covers fitted. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Lay down a primer before painting and spray the base color with an airbrush in thin coats. Volume comes from bringing out the edges with drybrushing, dark washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis, the wheels and the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
