1:35 “Ardennes Forest” [Diorama Base]

The diorama base Ardennes Forest in 1:35 scale (RT-Diorama)

This is a diorama base, that is, a scenic support, not a model of a vehicle. The base from the manufacturer RT-Diorama captures the forest environment of the Ardennes, typically associated with the winter fighting on the Western Front. It provides contoured terrain as a support for vehicles and figures.

What the base is for

The Ardennes forest is an iconic backdrop of the winter fighting of the turn of 1944 and 1945. The base offers ready terrain on which a vehicle or infantry can be placed and completed with vegetation, snow and fallen leaves for a faithful effect of the scene.

Building and painting tips

Put the terrain together and glue it according to the material. Render the forest floor with pigments, static grass and crushed leaves, and the winter effect with model snow. Bring the trunks and roots out with glazes and a dry brush. Add your own vehicles, figures and vegetation according to your intention.
