A miniature resin set from the South Korean brand Tori Factory in 1:12 scale. It is not a standalone model or a figure, but a detailed accessory meant to arm a figure in this scale. The set captures the German StG44 assault rifle fitted with the Zielgerät 1229 Vampir infrared night sight. The parts are cast in colored resin, so the set can be assembled without having to paint it in full.
The Sturmgewehr 44 (StG44) is regarded as the first mass-produced assault rifle and it foreshadowed the development of modern infantry weapons. The Vampir night vision version used an active infrared lamp and a sight powered from a battery carried by the soldier, and it was deployed in the very last stage of the Second World War in night fighting.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut the casting blocks off carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The metal parts come out well with a dark primer, a fine dry brush and a light wash into the recesses. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled. The figure, glue, paints and other fittings are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
